Increase in metal theft

Dear Residents,

We are writing to inform you of a recent increase in metal thefts across our area. These offences have affected both residential and commercial properties and include the theft of items such as drain covers, benches, tables, statues and letter boxes.

Metal theft causes significant disruption, financial loss, and, in some cases, safety risks to the community. We are actively investigating these incidents to identify offenders and recover stolen property.

We ask for your assistance in helping to prevent further offences by taking the following precautions:

Secure metal items where possible,

Mark property with identifiable markings,

Ensure good lighting and CCTV coverage around properties and storage areas,

Report any suspicious activity, vehicles, or individuals, especially during late night or early morning hours

If you witness a theft in progress or believe a crime is taking place, please call 999 immediately. For non-emergency information or to report suspicious activity, contact us on 101 or via our online reporting channels.
